About Us
On December 16, 2011, Ms. Letna was diagnosed with breast cancer. With the help of her daughter Yanique, and husband Arnold she vowed to fight the dreaded disease with everything she had. While going through treatment, multiple surgeries, and reconstruction, she wanted to reclaim her life by doing something different. Soon after, the thought of raising funds for the Scarborough Centenary Hospital (her treatment site) now Scarborough Health Network was sparked and she decided to work towards it.
A small group of dedicated people formed the Ms. Letna Healing Hope planning committee and the idea for the Ms. Letna Healing Hope Brunch was born. The first event took place on Sunday, April 7th, 2013.
In 2020, the 8th Annual fundraiser was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, Ms. Letna experienced an unexpected spinal cord injury and the brunch was further delayed as Ms. Letna and her family navigated the challenges and changes that followed.
Motivated by her strong sense of community and desire to give back, Ms. Letna, along with her team, is driven to restart her fundraising efforts.
A donation to the Healing Hope Fundraising Brunch is a wonderful way to help Ms. Letna with her healing process while supporting the Cancer Care Program at the Scarborough Health Network’s Centenary site, and the Jamaica Cancer Society.
Together, we can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
